The new Pigment Powerhouse

The Heubach Group combines two of the most successful color companies – Heubach, and the former Clariant Pigments business, Colorants International.

Heubach’s history as a family company stretches back to the 14th century, when the Heubachs first manufactured decorative glassware and porcelain. In 1806 they founded the Goslarer Farbenfabrik facility and became one of the first ever manufacturers of pigments. The wealth of chemical experience gained in the field of pigment production laid the foundation for the diversification and extraordinary international growth witnessed in the last decades. The Heubach Group’s development into one of the leading producers of high-quality organic and inorganic pigments and pigment preparations is largely the result of the product innovations that also led it to becoming the market leader in anti-corrosive pigments.

Colorants International – the global pigment division that belonged to Clariant AG looks back on just as long a tradition. A World leader with roots in Hoechst AG, founded in 1863, where many of today’s leading pigments where first created, and now amongst the most used globally.

In January 2022 the Heubach Group and SK Capital and Partners, a private investment firm with focus on the specialty materials, chemicals and pharmaceuticals sectors, closed the acquisition of the global pigment division of Clariant AG (Colorants International).
